Mattoni 1873 is the new owner of Knjaz Miloš

The Knjaz Milos water bottling and soft drinks company has been taken over by Mattoni 1873 which bought PepsiCo’s minority share in the Serbian company, a press release said.

“Mattoni 1873, the largest producer of mineral water and non-alcoholic beverages in Central Europe, acquired a minority stake (46.43%) in Knjaz Miloš from PepsiCo, becoming the sole owner of the leading producer of mineral water and energy drinks on the domestic market. The value of the transaction is almost 90 million euros,” the press release said.

CEO of Knjaz Milos, Marko Stankovic, said that the company would continue to develop as a leading producer of soft drinks in the Western Balkans.

“By further investing in Knjaz Miloš, we want to build its sustainable future through investments in quality products, innovations, and the creation of new opportunities for growth for the company and people,” the press release quoted Alessandro Pasquale, owner, and president of the Mattoni 1873 Group, as saying.

The Mattoni 1873 Group operates in 8 countries, has 3,400 employees, 11 production plants and 39 brands, such as Mattoni, Magnesia, Szentkirályi, Waldquelle, and others.

In the Czech Republic, Austria, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mattoni 1873 is the exclusive producer and distributor of PepsiCo’s brand of soft drinks. In 2023, the company sold almost 2 billion bottles of soft drinks and water.
