Owners of vehicles that are between 5 and 20 years old will pay a lower registration fee from next year.
As announced by the Ministry of Finance, the draft amendment to the relevant law has been sent to the Government for adoption, but not everyone with a car that is over 20 years old will pay a reduced fee, as the rule will only apply to vehicles with engines over 2,000 cubic metres.
“No additional reduction has been proposed for vehicles over 20 years old, as the registration fee for these vehicles has already been lowered by 20%. Moreover, further reduction in taxation of these vehicles could be considered as an incentive for their purchase, which is not acceptable from the point of view of road safety and environmental protection,” says the Ministry of Finance.
