Large Czech company to arrive to Serbia?

The trade between Serbia and the Czech Republic has grown by more than 70% since 2014 and exceeded one billion euro last year, said Serbian Chamber of Commerce President Marko Čadež.

For quite some time now there has been about the renowned Czech digital company Rockaway coming to Serbia. At the opening of the Serbia-Czech Republic Business Forum, attended by the presidents of the two countries, Aleksandar Vučić and Miloš Zeman, in his speech Čadež reiterated that there was a strong Czech interest in the field of digitization and that the meeting (of the two presidents) could be an opportunity to conclude the first big deals.

Čadež also said Serbian companies have doubled their exports to the Czech Republic in the last five years. The Business Forum was attended by around 100 representatives of Serbian companies.

“The special quality of our cooperation has attracted the interest of Czech companies towards significant investments in Serbia in the last two years,” said Čadež, citing the investments of Czech companies in Telenor, which he believes have chosen Serbia to develop and implement G5 technology in the Science and Technology Park in Belgrade.

Some of the biggest Serbian companies attended the Forum, such as Railway of Serbia, Rečno Brodarstvo, EPS, Eliksir and Vital.

Čadež also mentioned the cooperation between the Serbian company, Moji Brendovi and the Czech company, Matoni, which is one of the main partners of PepsiCo in Europe, which led to the acquisition of Knjaz Miloš.
