Laibach to perform at Nisville on Sunday

The film programme of this year’s Nisville Jazz Festival called The Movie Summit will begin on Sunday, 5th August, with the Serbian premiere of the documentary film “Maria Callas” directed by Tom Wolf, which will be screened at 20.30 on the Summer Stage on the Nis Fortress.

After that comes the screening of the documentary “Liberation Day”, featuring the concert that it iconic Slovenian group Laibach held in North Korea which is the first ever rock concert to be held in that country. All members of Laibach will attend the premier of Liberation Day at Nisville, after they will perform in concert.

Before the screening of the movie dedicated to the great Greek opera singer, Maria Callas (which also features Aristotle Onasis, Vittorio De Sica and other iconic persons of that age), the renowned opera singer Anita Ferlez will perform at 20:30.

The same evening, on the King Milan Square, the audiences will be able to enjoy in the screening of the last year’s laureate, the film “Django”, at 20.30, as well as a documentary about the Nisville Jazz Festival.

“A total of 100 films will be screened at this year’s Nisville, some on the Summer Stage and some in the Drive-in Movie where all car owners will be able to watch the films about David Bowie, Morrisey and Grace Jones. The jury will give special prize for the best performance of film soundtrack and, with the exception of the movies to be screened on the Summer Stage, at the official opening on 5th August, all other film screenings will be free of charge,”, Nisville organizers say.

The organizers note that tickets for the Nisville Jazz Music Festival (from 9th to 12th of August) will not be valid for the opening of the Nisville Film Festival and Laibach’s concert on August 5th.

The first batch of the tickets at the promo price of 750 dinars is sold out, and as of today (August 2nd) tickets will be sold at the price of 1,000 dinars. On the day of the opening of the film festival, the tickest will retail for 1,200 dinars.

The rest of the film festival is free for visitors.

Tickets for the opening of the Nisville Film Festival could be bought at Eventim outlets, as well as in the following locations in Niš  the Indigo bookstore (Obrenovićeva 38), Energy music shop (TPC Kalča – ground floor) and Vintage shop (Davidova 9).
