The musical “Wir sind das Volk,” performed by the Slovenian band Laibach, will be one of the biggest projects under the auspices of the Fortress of Peace programme organized by the European Capital of Culture 2022, Novi Sad.
The musical, inspired by Heiner Muller’s provocative postmodern plays, will be performed for the first time in Novi Sad on July 2 starting at 10 p.m. at Dom Vojske. As part of the Fortress of Peace pgramme, which will be launched in the second half of June, Novi Sad, as the European Capital of Culture 2022, promotes the culture of peace and dialogue as the main and topical messages, but also as a critical reflection on the terrible causes and consequences of war.
The musical will highlight some of these causes in an artistic and unusual way, but will also try to give relevant answers. Tickets for the musical go on sale on June 10, at the Gigstix points of sale, as well as on its website, priced at 1,500 dinars.
