“Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is welcome to come to Croatia, but first I expect an apology from him for the Serbian aggression against Croatia”, Croatian Defence Minister, Damir Krsticevic has said at a press conference.
“We are all aware that there was a war, that Croatia was attacked, and that a brutal aggression against Croatia was carried out. My task today is to strengthen the security system, to strengthen the army system. Of course we should look to the future, but apology is the minimum that we ask”, he added.
When asked if the Croatian government agreed about Serbian President coming for an official visit, or maybe the two sides should have waited until the tension in the relations between the two countries subsided, Krsticevic gave a vague answer.
“The government has already expressed its view. I have nothing else to say”, he concluded, and then referring journalists to ask the Croatian President those questions.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic confirmed on Wednesday that he had accepted Tuesday’s invitation from Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic to visit Zagreb, and that the meeting between two state officials would probably take place in mid-February.
