The new model, which is based on Fiat’s best-selling model, Fiat 500, was announced last year when the company’s five-year plan was presented.
According to the information available so far, Fiat Giardiniera will be an extended version of Fiat 500, could take up to five passengers and will have with a slightly larger boot.
Due to the high demand for this model, the Kragujevac plant, capable of producing a maximum of 200,000 vehicles per year, is going to operate at full capacity.
Fiat’s factory in Sumadija is also technically capable of producing SUVs too. The Italian media say that a B-segment SUV, a larger version of Panda Cross, could be produced in Kragujevac. The annual production of this small SUV should be about 50,000 units.
