“Vaccination against COVID-19 will be voluntary,” said Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs and member of the Crisis Unit, Darija Kisić Tepavčević, and underlined that the news that parents will have to vaccinate their children whether they want to or not is fake.
“Child services will not take away children from those parents who do not want their children to be vaccinated,” Kisić said for the Politika daily, adding that that’s absolutely fake news which aim is to upset parents.
She also announced that the draft law on social cards will be submitted to the Government of Serbia in the next 15 days for consideration.
If this law is adopted, she added, data on socio-economic status of existing and potential users will be unified.
“Social cards will enable citizens who are in the most difficult economic position to be more visible in the system, and in this way, they will be able to obtain support in a timely and effective manner,” stressed Kisić Tepavčević.
The Minister said that the Ministry she helms will continue to work on boosting the capacities of the staff in the social welfare facilities and that the government has approved hiring 125 new workers in the social welfare sector by the year-end.
