The Hong Kong company will make a 20 million Euro investment.
The new factory belonging to Johnson Electric of Hong Kong will open on September 12th. The factory will be 10,000 m2 and will be located in the Sever industrial zone near the airport, confirmed Niš mayor Zoran Perišić.
According to the plan, this factory is expected to hire at least 1,050 workers before the end of 2016. The total investment amounts to 20 million Euro. Before the end of this year, around 250 people will be hired, including highly trained workers. Many of them have already passed the training course in other Johnson Electric factories in Europe and China. As production develops, more workers will be hired in the future.
In the plant, which is equipped with state of the art machinery, electric motors will be produced for the automobile industry and bought by automobile giants such as Volvo, BMW, Jaguar, and other major automobile corporations.
According to Perišić, this is one of the largest and most important investments that has been made in the city, which is located on the Nisava river. The local authorities granted the land needed for construction free of charge, and the federal government, through SIEPA, has provided 9,000 Euro in subsidies per job created.
