The Japanese company Nidec, a manufacturer of small electric motors, is planning to build a factory in the industrial area near the Novi Sad refinery, writes eKapija website.
The arrival of the Japanese company, announced by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, was also confirmed by the head of Vojvodina’s government, Igor Mirović.
“Thanks to the effort of the provincial government, the Vojvodina Development Agency and the constant presence at major investment fairs, the Japanese company Nidec will come to invest in Novi Sad”, wrote Mirović on his Instagram account, adding that the first contact with the company took place at the Munich fair and, after two years of negotiations, their arrival has finally been confirmed.

“The company will employ several hundred people in its factory in the Novi Sad industrial zone,” he said.
However, according to the mayor of Novi Sad, the decision is not yet final, negotiations are underway and the Japanese delegation is expected to arrive in Serbia in the coming weeks.
“A senior delegation should come from Japan to Belgrade and Novi Sad. Novi Sad is one of the potential cities in Europe where they are considering investments but there are other cities in Europe that they are considering too. The state, the province and the city of Novi Sad have made a serious offer to Nidec. The value of the investment is in the range of a half to a billion dollars and will create several thousand jobs, “said the mayor of Novi Sad, who also announced the possible arrival of another German division of the Continental Company.
Nidec Corporation was founded in Japan in 1973 and is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of small electric motors for computers, household appliances and automobiles.
