Italy’s Plastikcam East opens a factory in Subotica

The provincial secretary for regional development, inter-regional cooperation and local self-government, Ognjen Bjelic, has officially opened a new production facility of the company Plastikcam East.

The plant is located in the Mali Bajmok industrial zone, near Subotica, and will be engaged in thermoplastic processing.

As the website of the Vojvodina’s government reports, this is an investment made the Italian company Caminda, under which Plastickam will operate.

Caminda invested EUR 3 million in the construction and the equipment for this plastic component plant. The company plans to employ 30 workers by the end of 2018, i.e. during the first of the five planned stages. The total number of employees, once all five stages are completed, should be up to 100.

Talking about the direct impact of Italian investments, Bjelic reminded that as many as 66 Italian companies had invested their capital on the territory of Vojvodina, amounting to a total of nearly a billion euros, and they employ over 11,000 people.
