Italy’s Novamont to help introduce innovative technologies in Serbian agriculture

The Serbian Minister of the Environment Goran Trivan and the Executive Director of the Italian company Novamont S.P.A, Catia Bastioli signed a protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Resources and Novamont.

The Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Resources, Senad Mahmutovic and the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Carlo Lo Cascio, participated in the signing of the protocol and in the bilateral meeting of representatives of the two Ministries with representatives of Novamont.

The document will provide institutional support for the implementation of innovative agro-industrial projects and technologies.

Trivan underlined that the cooperation protocol has been signed with a leading company in the world which deals not only with innovative technologies but also with their practical application in almost all areas of society, especially in agriculture, which is the biggest polluter in the country and the environment.

“The protocol will ensure that the innovations and use of biomaterials, applied by Italy in agro-industrial development and environmental protection, which have yielded remarkable results, can be implemented in Serbia too in the coming year,” said Minister Trivan following the signing.
