The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection has given the green light to the Italian company La Linea Verde, which already has a vegetable processing and packing plant facility in Dobrinci, to lease state-owned land in Ruma and Kraljevci, in Vojvodina.
The Italian food producer will thereby is allowed to use a total of 96 hectares of land (of different quality) for a period of 30 years.
“La Linea Verde will be paying an annual rental fee of 23,300 EUR, in the dinar countervalue, for 96.95 hectares of state land” – the head of the Finance, Economy and Agriculture Department in the local government, Biljana Damljanovic says.
The rental fee was determined on the basis of an opinion from the Ministry of Agriculture and amounts to 207 EUR for a hectare of a third-grade land plot. The Italian company will pay 40% of the rent fee directly into to the municipal budget of Ruma, whereas the remaining part will be paid into the Vojvodinian and Serbian budget.
