Italy’s GLM to expand production in Zrenjanin

The Italian company GLM plans to hire between 150 and 350 workers in its Zrenjanin plant – says the director of GLM’s division in Serbia, Radivoje Poljanac.

This company produces exhaust systems for Mercedes, Renault, Nissan, Dacia and other car brands. The value of GLM’s investment is Zrenjanin is estimated to be between 3.5 and 5 million EUR, and this is not the final figure.

“Our further investments will depend on several factors. For now, we would like to say that our cooperation with the local-government is good and considering that we have leased the production facilities for the period of three years, our intention is to continue developing in the long run, and perhaps open new plants”, Poljanac underlined.

Back in August 2017, the Italian company rented the production facility of the Minel Company in Zrenjanin. Poljanac adds that the company currently has 45 workers who are working in three shifts. He also says that everything that is produced here is exported to Germany, France and Belgium.

On the occasion, Poljanac reminded that GLM Group had a substantial number of workers in Italy, and that it had production facilities in Mexico.

“This is only a small segment of the machinery and equipment that will be installed in our plant in Zrenjanin. We are training some of the workers in Italy and we expect new machines to arrive very soon, possibly next week”, Poljanac said.
