The proprietor of the Unipromet Company and the president of the Economic Council of the City of Cacak, Milisav Novicic, said, during his guest appearance the Telemark TV stations, that negotiations with a big Italian company about launching production in the former Tehnos facilities were in progress.
As Novicic said, the Italians want to take over the former foundry, adapt it and employ at least 50 people.
– In the past few months, we’ve been talking with an Italian company which wants to take over the former Tehnos foundry. They intend to rent it for five years and adapt it to suit their production programme. If the negotiations are successful, the Italians will employ 50 people. One of our conditions is for the lowest net salary in the foundry to be at least 50,000 dinars. After five years, the city would consider whether to sell the facility to the Italian company, or cancel the cooperation – Novicic explained adding that the negotiations should be completed by the end of May.
A segment of Tehnos’ premises is now used by the public enterprise Komunalac, but there is no intention, at the moment, to move this public enterprise to another location.
