Italian Ambassador Luca Gori hosted a reception for nine young Italian ballet dancers who joined the ensemble of the Ballet of the Serbian National Theatre (SNP) in Novi Sad in August last year.
At the reception at the Italian Embassy on Monday, the dancers were led by the SNP Ballet Director, Aja Jung, who acquainted Gori with their repertoire and the company’s plans, the SNP announced.
The reception was attended by Melisa Brođin, Beatrice Còca, Leonardo Binello, Matilde Ferrari, Gabriele Potenza, Alice Lagomarsino, Jacqueline Robu, Simone Stangalino and Eleonora Vio-Genova, it was stated.
The SNP stated that the artists ‘enthusiastically presented their artistic experiences to date, as well as their collaboration with Italian choreographers Enrico Morelli and Jacopo Godani in Novi Sad’.
‘They recalled their collaborations with the tutors who have been working with them since the start of the season, including Maria Santucci, Ugo Ranieri and Eriberto Verardi,’ the statement noted.
The SNP added that the artists also presented guest performances which, in just a few months, took them to Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Pirot, Zrenjanin, and then to Bologna, Trieste, Gorizia and Bassano del Grappa.
As announced, the artists, who graduated from the most prestigious Italian and Austrian academies, are eagerly awaiting the premiere of the ballet “Giselle”, choreographed by Aleksandar Antonijević, at the end of March.
