Any accounting documents, including invoices, no longer have to be printed out, stamped or signed – the Serbian government has decided.
“E-invoice is perfectly valid in an electronic form, without stamp and signature, it doesn’t need to be printed or sent via regular mail. Also, the invoices that are in already in paper don’t have to have the company or the director’s signature”, the document explaining the invoice issuance and bookkeeping procedures clarifies. On Wednesday, the document was signed by the Serbian Finance Minister, Dusan Vujovic and Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister, Rasim Ljajic.
Companies can still issue their invoices in paper, if they wish, but they are no longer obligated to stamp or sign them. Also, an invoice issued in an electronic or digitalized form does not need to contain an electronic signature.
“By implementing these new rules, we are eliminating huge costs and facilitating doing business. We are saving money, paper and time in order to do business in a faster, efficient and more rational manner thus keeping up with contemporary standards”, the PM Ana Brnabic has said.
