Inflation +1.1% in April; food and drink prices increased the most

Inflation in Serbia in April 2021 went up by 1.1% on a monthly basis, while compared to the same month last year, it increased on average by 2.8%, the State Statistical Office announced.

Compared to December 2020, the prices of personal consumption goods and services were higher on average by 2.6% in April.

In April, compared to the previous month, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased the most, by 2.6%, clothing and footwear by 1.7%, transport by 1%, and recreation and culture by 0.2%.

Price increases were also recorded in the categories like water, electricity, gas and other fuels, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, health care, furniture, routine flat maintenance, restaurant and hotel services by 0.1% each. The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
