The Indian company Motherson officially opened another factory in Serbia, in the town of Ćuprija on Saturday, which will produce interior parts for car manufacturers such as Audi, Porsche and BMW, with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić also attending the inauguration.
The investment is worth 38 million euros and the factory will employ at least 455 workers by the end of 2025.
India-based Motherson Group was founded in 1975 and is one of the 21 largest and fastest-growing producers of automobile parts in the world. Brnabić said it has expanded its operations in Smederevo, where it employs almost 4,000 workers, and has now opened a new plant in Ćuprija, which will employ around 500 people by the end of 2025.
“I remember how you introduced me to your company in 2017, and now I know why it is one of the most important companies in the world; you have a team that believes in it, as do you. I also remember how kindly you talked about Serbia and so farm you have realised all of them and more,” Brnabić said at the opening.
