Lidl Serbia has provided the most economically priced weekly shopping basket in the country for a full year, according to an independent survey conducted by the market research agency NMS Market Research*. The continuous 12-month results confirm that low prices at this retail chain are not merely the result of short-term promotions or measures, but rather a long-term business principle that provides consumers with the lowest market prices daily, without compromising on product quality.
Holding the top position for the lowest prices throughout the survey means that in each individual month over the past year, Lidl’s weekly shopping basket was the most affordable. For consumers, the message is simple: Lidl is the choice that pays off for everyone.
This result is further proof of the success of a business model based on optimised processes, operational efficiency, and fair relationships with domestic and international suppliers. Savings achieved across the supply chain – from stock planning and procurement, through to warehouse organisation, logistics, and in-store merchandising – are not retained purely as company profit, but are strategically passed on to consumers through lower prices on the shelves.
“Lidl’s position as the provider of the most affordable weekly shopping basket for 12 consecutive months is the best indicator that fair supply chain relationships and a stable business strategy are the only true path to long-term consumer trust. This result confirms that genuine value – in terms of the ideal balance between price and quality – comes from systemic work and a clear business vision, to which Lidl will remain committed in the future,” points out Dragan Čigoja, CEO and board member of Lidl Serbia.
The strength of the company’s success is also reflected in the figures: over 700 domestic products are available daily to consumers in Lidl stores, the value of procurement from domestic suppliers rose by as much as 16 per cent over the past year, whilst the export of products from Serbian suppliers through Lidl’s international network reached €22 million in 2025.
“Our retail chain chooses not to follow conventional practices; instead, through our own efficiency, innovation, and the development of a local supplier network, we invest in a long-term relationship of trust with consumers and all our business partners. Regardless of how market conditions shift, our focus on low everyday prices remains unchanged, because shopping at Lidl genuinely always pays off,” concludes Nikola Balaban, Chief Merchandise Officer (CMO) and board member of Lidl Serbia.
As a reminder, at the start of the financial year in March, Lidl Serbia announced its unwavering commitment to its low-price policy, enabling consumers to plan with greater certainty, shop more easily, and receive quality they can count on every single day.
