The Swedish manufacturer of furniture and household items, IKEA, announced today that it has started the construction of AVA Shopping Park in Belgrade, in which it will invest more than 50 million euro.
The open-air shopping centre will be next to the IKEA department store in Bubanj Potok and will span over 30,000 square metres.
It is scheduled to open in spring 2022 and will employ around 400 people.
“We are very pleased that work on such an important investment for the city of Belgrade and the local community is going according to plan, despite the difficult circumstances caused by the pandemic. The local construction company IT Tel and Vila Grad, our main contractor in this project, will employ more than 800 workers during the construction”, said the project manager, Branko Mihajlov.
