Hisense to spend EUR 40 million on its new factory in Valjevo

The Chinese company, Hisense, will invest more than EUR 40 million in a new plant for the production of cooling devices in the city of Valjevo (central Serbia).

The new factory will produce Hisense, Gorenje and Asko cooling devices, mainly for export to Europe. The construction work will be completed and the factory opened in February 2023, according to the company announcement.

Gorenje has been successfully operating in Valjevo for 16 years and employs more than 1,600 people from Valjevo and the Kolubara district. Once finished, the new production plant will hire close to 1,000 people over the period of three years.

The factory is being built next to the existing production site on an area spanning 45,000 square metres, and will house a modern 30,000-square-metre production hall, warehouses and a restaurant for employees.

The planned production at the new plant will stand at 750,000 devices per year, while the total production at all three plants will amount to 1.7 million devices per year by 2025.

Since the opening of the first factory in Valjevo, more than 9 million devices have been produced here. As much as 92 per cent of the products manufactured in Valjevo have been exported to Europe, making this factory one of the largest exporters in Serbia.
