The Bekament Company has signed a franchise agreement with the renowned hotel company Hilton Worldwide for the construction of a hotel in Aranđelovac. The investment is worth more than EUR 40 million.
“I believe that with this project we will give a strong boost to the local economy, but also lay the foundations for the long-term positioning of the town as a recognisable destination on the tourist map of the region,” said Aleksandar Čolović, the owner of Bekament.
Bekament will, as stated, be the franchise holder, as well as the investor and the contractor for the works.
“Hilton was founded 106 years ago and has a long history of being the first brand in many countries and destinations. I truly believe that we can achieve the same effect in Aranđelovac, in terms of creating a new destination for Serbia and the region,” said Michael Collini, Vice President for Development for Central, Eastern and Southern Europe at Hilton.
As recently stated by Nemanja Gavrilović, a member of the Council for Sport in Aranđelovac, the hotel will be built on the site of the existing pitch of FC Šumadija.
According to the Srbija Danas news website, at the initiative of Bekament, the municipal assembly adopted a decree under which the company also committed to building a modern football stadium with all accompanying facilities and an auxiliary pitch. On the other hand, the local government committed to a land exchange for the existing FC Šumadija Aranđelovac ground, where the construction of the Hilton Hotels & Resorts hotel is planned.
