This year’s Guitar Art Festival will take place between 12th and 17th March in Belgrade’s Kombank Dvorana and will bring an eclectic mix of the most renowned guitarists to our capital city.
From fado and magic flamenco-jazz to the sound of gipsy swing, the festival visitors will enjoy in the likes of the Rosenberg Trio from the Netherlands, Vicente Amigo, Carminho and ours Vlatko Stefanovski.
The Rosenberg Trio is one of the most impressive jazz bands of today and it is certainly the best when it comes to “Gipsy Jazz”. For three decades they have been performing all around the world, from the „North Sea Jazz “festival to the New York Carnegie Hall.
The virtuoso Stochelo Rosenberg leads the trio which he founded with his brothers Noni (double bass) and Nous’che (rhythm guitar). Stochelo Rosenberg is considered as one of the greatest guitarists and many people claim that he has lived up to be equal with his personal role model, the legendary Django Reinhardt.
Currently, the biggest fado star, Carminho, will have her first concert in front of the Belgrade audience on March 15th in Kombank Dvorana. At the Belgrade concert, she will perform with her band – Flavio Cardoso (guitar), Luis Guerreiro (Portuguese guitar), Tiago Maia (bass) and Pedro Geraldes (Pedal Steel guitar), where they will play, besides the popular tracks, songs from her current album “Maria”, which the critics had described as Caminho’s most personal album so far.
Last but not least, the King of Flamenco Music, Vicente Amigo will perform on March 12th. Vicente Amigo is considered as one of the best flamenco guitarists in the world today and an authentic heir to the great Paco de Lucia, who is also his greatest role model.
