Gruner opens a new factory in Vlasotince

Gruner opened yesterday a new production facility in Vlasotince, in the presence of the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic and the company’s management.

On the occasion, Vucic said that the total investment in the factory amounted to EUR 6.5 million, of which Serbia had provided EUR 3.2 million.

A total of 50 people are employed at the new facility, which brings the number of employees in the factory to 480. The plan is for another 50 workers to be hired at the new facility by 2020.

As a part of the facility, there is a training workshop that will be attended by the students of the technical high school in Vlasotince. The plan is for the second grade students to spend two days a week at the workshop, and for the third grade students to spend three days working at the workshop. They will be financially compensated for their work.

The new production facility produces plastic components, and will soon start producing metal parts as well, both for Gruner and other companies.

The new facility spans 3,000 square meters, with Gruner now owning a total of 7,000 square meters of production facilities in Vlasotince.

In addition to Germany and Serbia, Gruner also operates in India and Tunisia.

The opening was also attended by the Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic and the German Ambassador, Axel Dittmann.
