Compared to the same month last year, consumer prices in April 2022 went up by 9.6 percent, while compared with December 2021, they increased by an average of 4.3 percent, the State Statistics Office has said.
According to official statistics, food prices increased by 15.8 percent in a year. The price of coffee, tea and cocoa increased the most, up to 24.5 percent. From April 2021 to April 2022, the prices of fruits and vegetables went up by 23.7 percent, followed by meat, which prices in one year increased by almost 1/5, i.e. by 19.5 percent. Then fats and oils with a price increase of 17.6 percent.
According to statistics, milk, cheese and eggs increased by 12 percent. Automobile fuels and lubricants increased by 19.8%. Prices of personal consumer products and services in April 2022, compared with March 2022, increased by an average of 1.5 percent.
On a monthly basis, observed by the main groups of products and services classified by consumption purpose, in April 2022, compared with the previous month, there was price growth in the groups: food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.7%), clothing and footwear (2.1%), transportation (1.8%), restaurants and hotels (1.3%), recreation and cultural activities (1.2%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (1.0%), housing equipment and current maintenance (0.9%), and health group (0.6%).
