The European Union Member States have reached agreement on Serbia opening another chapter in its pre-accession negotiations, the Serbian state TV (RTS) said quoting unnamed sources in Brussels.
The sources said that chapter 4 (Free Movement of Capital) will be opened at an inter-governmental conference on December 10.
The RTS said that the Serbian authorities are ready to open chapter 2 (Freedom of Movement for Workers), chapter 21 (Trans-European Networks) and chapter 14 (Transport Policy) but that political agreement had been reached only for chapter 4.

Serbia has opened 17 of the total of 35 negotiation chapters and has temporarily closed two. It has opened only one chapter this year – chapter 9 (Financial Services).
At the same time, on Tuesday, the European Parliament held its annual exchange of views between representatives of the institution and members of the Western Balkans Parliament. On this occasion, the President of the European Parliament David Sassoli and the new Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi said that the enlargement process in the Western Balkans is their priority.
Speaking of Serbia, Varhelyi stressed, among other things, that comprehensive and harmonised electoral reforms are needed before next spring’s parliamentary elections.
The new European Commissioner for Enlargement also underlined the importance of rapidly forming a new government in Kosovo, expecting the dialogue with Serbia to continue, and for Kosovo-imposed tax on Serbian goods to be abolished.
