“The government of Serbia has not yet made a decision on the price of electricity for businesses, but we are talking about it and a decision will be made soon,” EPS director Milorad Grcic said yesterday, addressing the members of the Supervisory Board.
Grcic also said that the citizens of Serbia have the lowest price of electricity in the region and that there are no plans to change it. He also said that in six months, the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) made a profit of 11.5 billion dinars and added that, in the period 2016-2020, it exported four terawatts of electricity.
Grcic pointed out that electricity consumption in Serbia has increased by 13%, which is a result of the revival of the economy and the construction of factories, and that in terms of environmental protection, EPS will be fully harmonised with EU standards by 2027.
Finally, he mentioned that EUR 600 million has been invested in three projects of desulphurisation of thermal power plants.
