The Pancevo City Council today had decided to allocate a 10.8-hectare-land plot in the Northern Industrial and Business Zone to the German company ZF Friedrichshafen AG where the company plans finish constructing the factory by 2019.
ZF plans to build a factory for the production of automotive components which will span 25.000 m² and employ 540 people initially. The project would be realized in stages, with the first stage realized in the period from 2019 till 2021.
The total investment would amount to close to EUR 40 million in 2019, around EUR 25 million in 2020 and EUR 20 million in 2021.
The second stage would entail the expansion of the production from the Phase 1 and this stage is planned for the period from 2022. It entails obtaining another 9.2 hectares of land, the construction of another 25,000 m² of facilities and creation of more new jobs, i.e. between 800-1,000 employees in total.
The plant will produce axles for electric gears for E-Mobility for Premium OEM, electric traction engines for E-Mobility, gearshift electronics and mechatronics, as well as microswitches/PCB.
As RTV Pancevo reports, ZF Friedrichshafen plans to offer salaries of at least EUR 450-500 a month and for the plant’s construction to start in July of this year.
