Germany’s Wacker Neuson to build another factory in Kragujevac

The German company, Wacker Neuson, had a groundbreaking ceremony on the construction site of its new factory in Kragujevac, an investment worth 23 million euros.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who was present at the ceremony, said that German companies always bring vast experience and knowledge, as well as large capital to Serbia.

“Today, Wacker Neuson has over 600 workers in Serbia, and I expect and hope that there will be more than 1,000, and even more when they make a decision on a new production agreement,” Vucic said, adding that the state has granted subsidies in the amount of 1.6 million euros for the project.

Vučić also noted that Germany is the biggest trade partner of Serbia, with 6.5 billion euros of trade last year.

Wacker Neuson has been operating in Kragujevac since 2007 where it employs more than 650 workers and produces key components for construction machinery, i.e. welded structures.

The company’s headquarters is in Munich where the company manufactures construction machinery and equipment for construction machines. It has 50 production and development centres in Germany, Austria, the United States, Serbia and China and employs a total of 5,500 people.
