Wacker Neuson, a German manufacturer of light and compact construction equipment, plans to continue production in October this year in a new factory in Kragujevac, which construction will cost about 23 million euros.
“The construction of a new factory is underway. With the investment worth about 23 million euros in 2022 alone, the company is expanding its business in Serbia,” said Wacker Neuson Kragujevac director Branko Ilić.
On the occasion of the company’s 15th anniversary of operations in Kragujevac, he told reporters that a 20,000-square-metre-production plant will be built in the first construction, while the construction of additional 30,000 square metres will begin in early 2023.
The company is now working in leased space. Mr Ilić also underlined that with the expansion of production capacities, there will also be a need for new workers and recalled that Wacker started its operations in Kragujevac in a small workshop of a few hundred square metres and today it has three production plants with more than 650 employees.
The company’s representatives also highlighted the importance of their training centre for welders and machinists, with hundreds of people already completing their training there.
