Pirate Technologies, the base for updating the software system of Berlin’s HolidayPirates group, one of the fastest growing tourist companies in the world, has announced the expansion of its operations in the Serbian market by creating around 30 jobs for highly qualified software engineers by the end of 2017.
This had made Belgrade, along with the headquarters in Berlin, the main IT base for HolidayPirates group. The German company has chosen the Serbian market for the expansion in this area precisely thanks to the recognizable quality of software experts.
– A software platform encompassing over 15 applications and servicing over 50 million web pages a month will be developed in the Belgrade office. Pirate Technologies mostly uses LEMP stack, but also works with exotic coding languages and technologies, like Golang, NodeJS, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, VueJS, AWS Lambda, Kinesis and SQS. These technologies are not common in Serbia and this will provide software engineers with an opportunity to work with them – explains Dragan Stefanov, vice president of the technology board at HolidayPirates.
Vladimir Zivadinovic, the operating manager of Pirate Technologies, says that the company has decided to develop its operations in Serbia due to expert workforce.
– HolidayPirates group operates in 11 countries around the world, and they’ve chosen Belgrade as a place for developing and managing the software platform precisely thanks to the knowledge and expertise of software engineers in Serbia. Serbian developers are already recognized in the international IT market, and many talented people are still studying at the faculties – Zivadinovic points out.
