Germany’s Mamminger Konserven invests EUR 2.5mln in Gospodjinci

The German company Mamminger Konserven will begin the construction of its new vegetable processing facility in Gospodjinci, the municipality of Zabalj, worth EUR 2.5 million, on 22nd March.

The core business of the German company is processing cucumbers which it buys from over 200 subcontractors in the province of Vojvodina and in southern Serbia. The company buys close to 15,000 tons of cucumbers a year from the Serbian vegetable growers. One third of that quantity will be processed at the newly built plant in Gospodjinci.

The Vojvodinian Prime Minister, Igor Mirovic said that, once the plant was finished, the German company would employ close 300 workers. The official inception of the construction work on the new plant was attended by Oliver Ugrinaj, director of Mamminger Konserven Serbia, and Franz Ammer, CEO of Mamminger Konserven.
