The German company, Bizerba, has started to build a production plant in Valjevo (Central Serbia), which should employ more than 300 people.
The investment is worth more than 33 million euros and the factory is expected to become operational in the last quarter of this year.
President Aleksandar Vučić attended the groundbreaking ceremony, saying that the construction of Bizerba’s factory starts a new era for Valjevo and the entire Kolubara district. Vučić underlined that Bizerba’s employees will be paid well, much higher than the average salary in this area.
“The average gross salary will be 1,772 euros, or 1,100 euros net,“ he said and added that the workers would also have the opportunity to learn how to use state-of-the-art technology at the factory.
The owner and CEO of Bizerba, Andreas Kraut, said that the beginning of the construction of the plant is a special day for the company, the town of Valjevo and the whole region. He also announced that the plant, located in the Valjevo industrial zone, would have been finished by the year-end.
Bizerba is a world-renowned manufacturer of scales.
