The German company IGB Automotive Comp, which produces spare parts for the automobile industry, has bought land in Indjija. It will build a new plant there and hire an additional 500 workers, the city of Vojvodina announced. The investment totals 4.5 million Euro, and construction will begin in April. The 7000 m2 factory should be finished by September 2016.
The president of the city, Petar Filipovic, said that it is very important for Indjija and its citizens that development continues, new jobs are created, and the companies that already operate in Indjija continue to expand. “IGB Automotive Comp is a very important investor in our city due to the fact that it has been managed well for many years and currently employs approximately 1500 people,” Filipovic said.
“With the new investment, we plan to increase production capacity, implement new technology, introduce new products, and hire an additional 500 workers. All this has occurred due to the good results that we have had with the Serbian factory and the great conditions that the Serbian government, the Chamber of Commerce, and the city of Indjija have provided,” said the company’s sole manager in Serbia.
