The Happy Path Foundation has launched a fundraising initiative to secure the transport of Stefan Ivanović’s body from Switzerland to Serbia and to cover funeral expenses.
A humanitarian fundraising campaign has been launched for Stefan Ivanović, a 31-year-old Serbian man who tragically lost his life in a major fire in Switzerland while rescuing others. The Happy Path Foundation has initiated an organised campaign to raise funds for the transport of his body to Serbia and for his burial in his homeland.
“That evening, Stefan was working as a security officer. When the fire broke out, he could have escaped. He chose to stay. He threw himself into the flames, trying to extinguish the fire and evacuate as many people as possible who were still trapped inside. Through his courage and selflessness, Stefan saved lives. His heroic act cost him his own life,” the fundraising page states.
The Happy Path Foundation said that the funds being raised will cover the costs of transporting Stefan’s body from Switzerland to Serbia, as well as the costs of the funeral. The campaign organisers emphasise that every donation – whether financial or by sharing the information – is a gesture of respect for Stefan and his courage, as well as support for his family at this extremely difficult time.
At the time of writing this article, more than 66,000 Swiss francs have been raised.
