This is a short review of the most important economic and business events in the week ahead of us.

International Technical Fair – 21st to 24th May

This year’s 66th International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements is being held under the slogan “We inspire development” from May 21 to 24 at the Belgrade Fair. More than 600 domestic and foreign companies from thirty countries will exhibit on 15,000 square metres, both indoors and outdoors. National exhibitions of six countries will be presented too and about 100 innovations of various types and scope will be exhibited at the Fair.

China is this year’s special guest, with as many as 22 institutions and companies that will present their new technologies and innovations in the fields of space, astro-nautical and radar technologies, diagnostic and operational technologies in healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotechnologies, automotive and traffic technologies, artificial intelligence…

Balkan Financial Forum – 22nd to 24th May

A gathering of financial experts from Serbia and the Balkan region will take place in Belgrade from May 22 to 24, as part of the 2024Balkan Financial Forum. This event consists of four educational and business meetings held in the capitals of the region, and the topic of the Belgrade forum is “Assessing the value of capital and property”. The Belgrade forum is organized in cooperation with the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce and the Belgrade Banking Academy and with the support of the International Valuation Standards Council.

Sustainability, Technologies and Facility Management – 22nd May

The Facility Management Business Association of Serbia (FMBAS) is organizing on Wednesday, May 22 in Belgrade, an expert meeting titled “Sustainability, Technologies and Facility Management: Where are we today?” The Facility Management industry in Serbia is growing day by day in terms of the number of market participants, the area of maintained square meters and the income generated by the providers of these services. As a result, the industry’s responsibility to improve business standards and overcome challenges in order to provide the highest quality services to a wide network of FM service users is growing.

Meeting of World Minds in Belgrade – 23rd May

On Thursday, May 23, the World Minds symposium will be held at the National Theatre in Belgrade, with the participation of some of the world’s greatest minds. In 2019, Serbia became the first country in the world after Switzerland to host this meeting. World Minds has a 17-year tradition, more than 150 recognized speakers and over 1,000 members.

New statistical data

This week, the State Statistics Office will publish data on average earnings per employee for March 2024, as well as external trade price indices for the first quarter of this year. We will also find out what the prices of retail agricultural products were in May, but also find out more information about drinking water supply and lumber industry in 2023.
