FIC presents its 2016 White Book today

The Foreign Investors Council (FIC) will officially present its 2016 White Book today, at noon, at the Metropol Palace Hotel. Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic is due to give address at the launch, as will the FIC President Yana Mikhailova.

The official presentation will be followed by the panel discussion on the most important topics regarding the business climate in Serbia. The panel discussion will be moderated by Aleksandar Miladinovic, a renowned TV reporter.

„We have had an important year because we have noticed that Serbia is going through a period of political and economic stability. The effects of fiscal consolidation are visible and this is a good foundation for the stable development of the Serbian economy“, Mikhailova said for the Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS).

She added that consistent progress has been achived in issuing electronic building permits, while somewhat slower progress has been noted in labour legislation.

The White Book is a proclamation of privately-owned (mostly foreign) companies doing business in Serbia about the business climate in the country and a practical set of recommendations to the authorities on how to remove unnecessary barriers and facilitate doing business in Serbia. It’s launch is considered one of the most prestigious events in the Serbian business community and is usually attended by the top Serbian officials.

A small favour

Since 2013, Serbian Monitor has been offering to its readers carefully selected news about the Republic of Serbia, as a daily commitment stemming from the genuine desire to offer undistorted information about a country that is too often a victim of prejudice and superficiality. From November 2016, this service is available in English and Italian with a growing number of original articles with a goal of providing a complete picture of this Balkan country's economy, politics, culture and society. Our archive is completely free of charge, available to anyone who wants to get to know the country, to study its specific aspects, or to be constantly updated about it. This project will only be able to continue with the help of readers on whom we are calling to provide a small financial support so that we can continue supplying an increasingly expanding pool of information and original contributions.
