FCA is top exporter in Serbia in 2016

The fifteen biggest exporters in Serbia exported last year goods and services worth 3.9 billion EUR, while the Kragujevac-based automobile producer Fiat Chrysler Automobili Srbija (FCA) has maintained its leading position on the list of the top exporters with 1.07 billion EUR worth of export.

Although, FCA did record a 9.3% drop in export compared to 2015 – the Serbian Ministry of Finance has reported.

The Smederevo Ironworks Heesteel took the second place with 368.7 million EUR worth of export ahead of car tire manufacturer Tigar Tyres from Pirot with 315.7 million EUR – Wisebroker reports.

Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) has also recorded decline in export of 13.8% due to lower crude oil prices. In 2016, the company exported 235.8 million worth of products. On the other hand, the c cigarette manufacturer Philip Morris Operations, based in Nis, had a strong export growth of 43.9% to 220.2 million EUR. The next on the list is MK Group from Novi Sad with 212.7 million EUR, followed by Petrohemija with 194.9 million EUR.

The export activities of the household appliances manufacturer Gorenje were worth 149.9 million EUR, Tetra Pak Production exported 176 million EUR worth of products, while agribusiness company Victoria Group’s export amounted to 172.6 million EUR in 2016.
