The long-awaited exhibition “Paja Jovanović and Gustav Klimt – One Era, Two Artists, Three Museums” will be opened on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at the Matica Srpska Gallery in Novi Sad.
Maja Gojković, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia will officially open the exhibition. Serbia. The opening of the exhibition will be accompanied by the music from the Novi Sad Quintet – Ksenija Mijatović Korom – flute, Veronika Antunović Marić – oboe, Kristijan Boroš – clarinet, Goran Marinković – bassoon and Mirko Marić – horn.
The exhibited works of Paja Jovanović and Gustav Klimt come from the Matica Srpska Gallery, the Art and History Museum in Vienna and the Belvedere Gallery. These three carefully selected works, two of which will be exhibited for the first time in Serbia, point to the similarities and differences between great artists, talk about the social context in which they were created and at the same time connect the museums whose collections they are.
The exhibition will be opened until 24th January, 2024.
