The Italian Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Luca Gori, inaugurated the exhibition “Identity Beyond Borders – The Dialogue between Human Beings and Nature in the Works of the Farnesina Collection”, organised in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade and the DOTS Gallery of the Serbian capital.
Open to the public until 7 March 2026, the exhibition presents a significant selection of works from the Farnesina Collection, the prestigious contemporary art collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. It forms part of a programme of initiatives celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Collection, promoting cultural dialogue and greater awareness of contemporary Italian art.
Curated by Benedetta Carpi De Resmini, the exhibition – which features primarily works by female artists – offers a nuanced reflection on the themes of identity, borders and the relationship between human beings and nature, explored through diverse artistic languages and multiple sensibilities.
Belgrade is the third stop of this cultural project, which will later travel to France and Japan. This highlights the vibrancy of the Serbian cultural scene and the central role of cultural exchange in relations between Italy and Serbia.
“After the Michelangelo Pistoletto exhibition, after the show dedicated to Italian Baroque art with works from the Borghese Gallery, and after the recent contemporary art exhibitions Tentativo and Connecting New Generations, the arrival of the Farnesina Collection in Belgrade marks another moment of outstanding artistic quality in the promotion of cultural cooperation between Italy and Serbia,” said the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori.
