Draginja Đurić leaves Banca Intesa after 20 years at its helm

The current Chairwoman of Banca Intesa Serbia’s Board of Directors, Draginja Đurić, will leave the position. Her successor is Darko Popović, a member of the bank’s Board and Director of its Retail and SME division, the bank has confirmed.

“After more than 20 years of successful management of Banca Intesa in Serbia, Ms Đurić will continue to contribute to the Intesa Sanpaolo Group as an advisor to the Director of the International Banking Division for CEE Member States, Croatia, Slovakia and, in particular, Serbia, as an ambassador of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group for communication with regulators, institutions and potential clients in these markets,” the bank’s press release reads.

She brings decades of experience as deputy chairman of the Administrative Board of Privredna Banka Zagreb, board member of VUB Bank in Slovakia and IVS, an IT services company, to her new position.

“Since her appointent as head of Banca Intesa in Serbia in 2001, Ms Đurić has made an outstanding contribution to its development and during her career, she has been declared the Banker of the Year in Serbia several times by renowned financial publications, as well as the best banker in Southeast Europe,” the press release goes on to say.
