The documentary film about Marina Abramovic called “The Artist is Present”, directed by Matthew Akers, will be screened at Beldocs Reading Corner at the Belgrade Library on July 1st.
The film, which closed the Beldocs Festival in 2012, talks about the life and art of one of the greatest contemporary artists of today.
The film follows Marina Abramovic over the period of ten months, i.e. during the preparation and realization of her famous performance at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where the artist spent 700 hours socializing with the visitors in silence.
After the screening of the film, Dejan Sretenović, curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, Boris Miljković, Creative Director of Radio Television of Serbia, and Marko Grba Singh, artistic director of Beldocs, will talk about Marina Abramovic and her upcoming exhibition called “The Cleaner” at the Belgrade Museum of Contemporary Art that will be opened on September 21st this year.
