Demostat:”Electricity price to go up, both for households and companies”

The current electricity price will not last long, and in the coming period a new, higher one will be set for both businesses and households, writes Demostat.

Referring to its sources close to the Government, Demostat states that the goal of the authorities is to raise the price of electricity businesses in phases, by a total of 70 percent.

The first price increase was on January 1, when the electricity price went up to 75 euros per megawatt hour, and the second was on September 1, when the new price was set at 95 euros per megawatt hour.

This price increase campaign will last until the goal is met that the total percentage of price increases for businesses reaches the planned 70 percent.

Demostat states that the price increase was also confirmed by Prime Minister Brnabić when she said, for Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS), that ” companies must be protected with subsidised electricity and gas during the crisis “companies must be protected with subsidized electricity and prices so that they would continue to be competitive.”

What the authorities see as them assisting the business sector, companies consider it a new levy in an ongoing crisis that threatens the existence of their companies and their employees.
