Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic is expected to announce today whether there will be early parliamentary election in Serbia that is supposed to take place at the same time as presidential election.
This is what the President of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and Deputy PM, Ivica Dacic said yesterday, adding that he personally saw no reason for scheduling early parliamentary election.
“When I talked to Prime Minister Vucic we agreed that Serbia definitely had political stability and that it did not need new parliamentary election. There is no need to test this stability at early parliamentary election considering how balanced the current political situation is and how unified are all ruling parties”, Dacic was quoted as saying.
He also said that it was not up to him to make or announce such decision, adding that Vucic would do that. The Serbian Prime Minister said on Thursday that he was close to making a decision about early parliamentary election, and that he would not announce it before Monday.
“I have seen the requests from certain coalition partners, and I am close to making a decision, but I will not do that before Monday”, Vucic said. The last parliamentary election was held in April 2016.
