Deadline for submission of tenders for acquisition of Port of Novi Sad extended

The Ministry of Economy has extended the deadline for submitting bids for the acquisition of a 99.4 per cent stake in Luka Novi Sad (the Port of Novi Sad) at an initial price of about 15.98 million euro.

The new deadline for submission of bids is 6th November this year, and the official opening of the bids should take place on 8th November.

Companies that are eligible to submit their bids are those that have continuously performed port activities in the past ten years and that generated a revenue of at least EUR 30 million in 2017. Also, they would have had to reload at least 1.4 million tonnes in each of the past three years.

The Port of Novi Sad is the only port in Serbia where the state is the majority owner. It reloads around a million tonnes of goods a year, and its capacities exceed 2.5 million tonnes. The port has close to 150 employees.

The Government of Serbia believes that some of the best port companies in the world will take part in the tendering, such as Dubai Port World from the United Arab Emirates, Germany’s Renus and the American Valona Group.

Twelve companies and investors applied during the previous call for submission of letters of interest for the privatization of the Port of Novi Sad.
