The exhibition of photographs by the renowned film director David Lynch will be opened in the Belgrade Culture Centre on 1st September, at 8 pm, and will last until 30th September.
While the rest of the world is relishing in the remake of this cult series “Twin Peaks”, the Belgrade Culture Centre (Kulturni Centar Beograda) has decided to celebrate this exceptional filmmaker and a visual artist by staging his photo exhibition.
The exhibition comprises of 56 black and white large format photographs that carry the same sentiment as his films – a strange amalgamation of reality and phantasmagoric interventions and compositions. It is a lesser known fact that David Lynch is an accomplished visual artist too and that he studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.
The exhibition is titled “Small Stories” and it is produced by the Paris-based gallery ‘Item’ and the European House of Photography where it had its premiere in 2014.
The exhibition will be accompanied by various lectures, thematic courses, educational and creative workshops for students, as well as film screenings.
