A groundbreaking ceremony, marking the construction of a plastic product factory of the Czech group, IMG Bohemia, took place yesterday, in the industrial zone of the Technological Park in Vršac (Vojvodina).
IMG Bohemia’s Serbian subsidiary, IMG Manufacturing, will operate in this factory.
The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Vrsac, Dragana Mitrovic, the director of IMG BOHEMIA and the ambassador of the Czech Republic to Serbia, Mr Tomas Kuchta. The investment will be realized in three phases and is worth a total of 15 million euros.
The first construction phase, worth 5 million euros, is scheduled for completion in October 2022, when the factory will be officially opened. The second phase is scheduled for 2023, while the third phase will be implemented during 2024, both worth EUR 5 million. The Serbian government allocated 1,839,000 euros worth of subsidies to the Czech company, while the local administration provided support in the preparation of the planning and technical documentation.
The industrial complex is expected to be fully operational by 2025 and will employ 113 people. Extruded sheets and plastic tank production facility will be built first, followed by facilities for the production of plastic parts for cars, trucks and buses.
