Cuban dance star, cuisine of Francophone countries and ex-Yugoslav music legends await you in Belgrade and Novi Sad

It’s Thursday and time for our report about the cultural and entertainment events coming up in the next few days.

BELGRADE

Event: The World of Taste – Argentina, France, Lebanon, Morocco, Romania and Tunisia

Place: Foreign embassies

Time: March 29th, from 6 pm to 10 pm

The French Institute in Serbia and the Group of Ambassadors of the member states of the International Association of Francophonies in Serbia invite you to the evening dedicated to the culinary heritage and gastronomy of the Francophone countries. From 18:00 to 22:00, you will be able to taste Argentine, Lebanese, Moroccan, Romanian, Tunic and French culinary products, as well as to buy meals (sweet and salty) to take away. This first edition of The World of Taste is organized in cooperation between the French Institute in Serbia (France), the Embassy of Argentina, the Embassy of Lebanon, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Embassy of Romania and the Embassy of Tunisia. Entry is free of charge.

Event: Boot camp held by Cuban dancer Maykel Fonts

Place: Majdan Cultural Centre

Time: March 30th

Maykel Fonts, one of the best Cuban dancers, and his partner Sylvia Chappelli will hold a dance boot camp at the Majdan Cultural Centre in Belgrade on March 30th. The event is hosted by the Al Centro dance club from Belgrade Fonts is best known to the local audience for his roles in StreetDance 2 and The Latin Dream. There will be four themed workshops, and Fonts will demonstrate Afro-Cuban ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, flamenco, Latin-American dances and acrobatics. Maykel Fonts (1976) graduated from the most famous dance Cabaret in Cuba, The Tropicana, where he studied ballet, modern and contemporary dance, Afro and rumba. 

NOVI SAD

Event: Concert by Vasil, Bisera, Gabi and Matija

Place: Serbian National Theatre

Time: March 31st, at 8 pm

Back by popular demand, the iconic musicians and singers Vasil Hadzimanov, Bisera Veletanic, Gabi Novak and Matija Dedic have joined forces yet again and will perform in a unique concert at the Serbian National Theatre on Sunday. This is a rare opportunity to see two generations of musicians, from two families, on one stage. Vasil, Bisera, Gabi and Matija will perform the evergreens by Arsen Dedic, Zafir Hadzimanov, Kornelije Kovac, Kemal Monteno, Djordje Novkovic and other great ex-Yugoslav musicians.
