ContiTech Fluid: 500 new jobs in Subotica

Contitech Fluid Serbia is successfully implementing the second phase of the investment and the construction of the facility in Subotica. The company will create 500 new jobs as a result of this investment.

Contitech Fluid Serbia, a member of the Continental Group, has been operating in the Mali Bajmok Free Zone in Subotica since 2011. In the first phase of the investment, more than EUR 10 million was invested in building and equipping the 7,200 square metre facility. Although it was initially planned for 250 people to be employed, currently, 700 people work at the facility which produces rubber parts and automatic transmission hoses.

Contitech has now begun the second phase of the investment during which the company will invest EUR 17 million. The foundation for the new production facility has already been laid.

– The works are going according to plan. As it often happens with such complex projects, there have been certain minor problems which we resolve on the go.  I believe that the facility will have been completed by the beginning of the next year. We will have the identical production programme and we are able to expand the factory thanks to the new contracts which we had concluded with our clients – says Zivko Topalovic, the director of Contitech Fluid Serbia.

According to the plan, the production facilities should employ around 1,200 employees by the end of the second phase. The 500 new workers will be employed in stages, following the completed job training.

As the result of the planned investments, the company’s planned annual turnover in the next few years will be around EUR 100 million.
